Okay, I know what you are thinking…those are some creepy little pumpkins! Well, yes they are, but they are also pretty darn fun to play with! My little Thea calls them her “funny pumpkins” and she’s been playing with them throughout the last two days!
This is such a fun way to get into the holiday spirit and involve your toddler in some G-rated spooky fun while also creating an opportunity to explore different parts of faces and emotions.

Materials Needed for Silly Pumpkin Faces
Everything you need for your silly pumpkin faces is right here!
We decided to put our pumpkin templates in a clear pocket sleeve just to protect them, which I totally recommend doing with younger kiddos.
We will also be laminating our pieces because they’ve been getting so much use that we need to protect them from the inevitable daily spill from my toddler! Other than that, you just have to print the worksheets and cut them out!
In the silly pumpkin pieces you’ll find the following facial features:
Eyes
In the silly pumpkin pieces, you’ll find a page of eyes that includes a fish eye, a crocodile eye, and 4 human eyes of different shapes and colors.
Mouths
In the silly pumpkin pieces, you’ll find a page of mouths including some cartoon mouths and human mouths.
Noses
In the silly pumpkin pieces, you’ll find a page of noses including an owl nose, a dog nose, a pig nose, and three human nose pieces.
Other Silly Pumpkin Decorating Pieces
You’ll also get three pages of silly cartoon pumpkin accessories like hairy noses and glasses and two pages of pumpkin shapes to decorate.
Some of the pieces are too large for the wide pumpkin and can only be used on the tall pumpkin worksheet. We printed both pumpkins and put one on either side of our pocket sleeve.
Thea flips her sleeve over to use the other pumpkin when she wants to. Here are some ideas to get started with!
Learning about Faces & Emotions
My little Thea is 2yrs old and is just learning about the world around her. We spend time talking about noses, eyes, and mouths and what they do and we’ve been talking a lot about emotions.
She’s a hot-tempered kiddo that we call the Boss Baby, so we’ve been trying to use our words rather than our anger now that she is older and can communicate much better.
These pumpkin faces are a funny way to talk about making different faces as well as different emotions. She’s had a blast decorating her pumpkin faces as well!!
