Directions

Start by downloading the template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this acorn to life!

First, guide your child to paint the paper plate with 1-2 thin coats of brown paint. Let it dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Next, help your child to glue the acorn cap to the top portion of the paper plate.

Now, glue the eyes to the center of the paper plate.

Position the mouth below the eyes and glue it in place.

Glue the tongue to the center of the mouth.

Next, glue the cheeks below the eyes.

Finally, encourage your child to draw the eyebrows on top of the eyes.

  • Black marker
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Acorn template

Instructions

  1. Download the acorn template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  2. Begin by painting the paper plate with 1-2 thin coats of brown paint. Let it dry completely before moving on to the next step.
  3. Next, glue the cap to the top portion of the paper plate.
  4. Now, glue the eyes to the center of the paper plate.
  5. Position the mouth below the eyes and glue it in place.
  6. Glue the tongue to the center of the mouth.
  7. Next, glue the cheeks below the eyes.
  8. Finish off by drawing the eyebrows on top of the eyes.
