How To Make a Handprint Corn Craft

Step 1: Give your Corn Some Texture!

Grab a piece of bubble wrap and paint the bubbly side with some yellow/orange paint. You want your paint to just be a tad darker than your yellow paper so you can see the texture. Work quickly as the paint begins to dry rather quickly.

Take your painted bubble wrap and press it painted side down onto your piece of yellow paper. Press lightly to transfer the texture of the bubble wrap onto your paper. Carefully lift bubble wrap. Let paper dry completely.

Step 2: Prep and Cut Out Template Pieces

Using our free template cut out your template pieces.

  • (2) Green leaves
  • (2) Corn Cobs from your stamped yellow paper
  • (1) Green Stem
  • (1) Yellow Corn Tassel
  • (2) Green Handprints – trace your kiddos hands onto green paper and cut out! You can also use our free handprint template if desired.

Step 3: Assemble Ear of Corn

Now let’s assemble your corn stalk! Add two googly eyes to each corn cob and add a smiley face or smirk to your cobs. Place your corn cobs in the middle of each handprint and gently fold the thumb and pinky finger inward to wrap around the corn. Glue in place.

Step 4: Assemble Corn Stalk

Glue your large green corn stalk to the center of your white paper. Add the yellow tassel to the top.

Glue your corn cobs to either side of the green stalk. Add green leaves to either side of the stalk. Carefully fold the top end of your leaves downward for a 3D affect.
