I have a moon sand recipe; believe it or not, it’s the same two ingredients! The ratio is a little different which makes it more like Kinect sand. It definitely has a different feel so make sure to try both recipes since you have the ingredients!

Supplies to make Cloud Dough

I know I said two ingredients- but you can add in a few drops of food coloring and maybe even an essential oil so it spells good. Both are optional!

How to make Cloud Dough

This recipe could not be easier!

Recipe for Cloud dough

  • 1 cup corn starch
  • 1/2 cup conditioner

This recipe is super easy to double and triple depending on how many kids you are making it for!

How to mix the dough

Start by adding the cornstarch and conditioner into the bowl. I did a rounded cup fo cornstarch-not leveled off. Then start stirring.

Once it starts sticking together and starts to resemble dough, you can start kneading it with your hands. It comes together pretty easy.

You want a fluffy dough that feels nice and smooth and squishy!

Troubleshooting

If it leaves sticky residue on your fingers, add a little more corn startch. If it feels more like sand and not very smooth, add a little more conditioner.

Play Dough Play tray

My kids have always loved playing with slime, dough, sand etc! To add an extra element of fun, we always lay out extra supplies for them to play with- a play dough play tray!

I found this round circle tray at the dollar tree. I just fill it up with all sorts of thing I have around the house. Here are some of ideas:

  • Googly eyes
  • pipe cleaners
  • buttons
  • toothpicks
  • plastic silverware
  • cookie cutters
  • Rolling pin
  • popsicle sticks
  • paper clips
  • marbles
  • toys (dinosaurs, army men, legos, princess etc)
  • Beads
  • pom poms

I just think having items out helps inspire creativity!
