I love crafting with fabric. It’s a great way to transform everyday items,
especially if you’re on a budget! With just a few fabric scraps you can make
mason jar flowers or craft the cutest
drop cloth carrots.

If you’re looking for some new pieces to add to your Easter decor, I hope
you’ll try these sweet ticking striped eggs. And if you love creating vintage
style vignettes, all you need are some thrifted books, white dishes, faux
flowers, even a doily and some chippy spindles to get this vintage inspired
look for Spring!

How to make ticking stripe Easter eggs

Let’s talk about the supplies needed for these tattered eggs. Always check
your local craft stores for the best prices, I’m including Amazon links below
for your convenience.

The steps to make these primitive style eggs couldn’t be easier, but
I’ll share a few tips below to help you achieve success!

Tips for success

  1. Tear, don’t cut, your fabric into strips about 3/4″ inch wide. This will
give you perfectly tattered and frayed edges with very little effort.
  2. Go easy on the glue. A couple small dabs will be enough to secure the
    fabric to the eggs.
  3. Wrap eggs with fabric the long way. Slightly overlap the pieces to fully
    cover eggs.

Stamp a small fabric tag (be sure to tatter the edges too!) and attach
to a single egg with a rusty safety pin. Pile eggs into an ironstone bowl,
wicker basket or tray to show them off!

Happy crafting!
